33 ½ Weeks Old – February 1st, 2007

I can’t believe that you’ll be 8 months old in a couple weeks! You are growing up so fast. This morning, Daddy and I had to go in a wake you up a 7:15. You looked so sweet laying there in your crib. You are such a sweet child.

This semester I have class on Monday and Tuesday nights, so I come home to see you at lunch, but I don’t get to see you again until the next morning, either Grandma or Daddy puts you to bed. When I go get you in the morning though, you are soooo incredibly excited to see me. I always get a big smile, and you start kicking the blankets off immediately, while you tell me all about your night 🙂

I cannot even begin to tell you how well you sleep at night and during your naps now. We put you in your crib and you go to sleep. You rarely fuss, and when you do it’s usually only for a minute or two. I know it’s all going to go downhill when you start teething, but for now, I’m very happy about catching up on all that sleep I missed during your first few months 🙂

Speaking of teeth, you don’t have any yet. You also don’t eat very much real food (baby food) yet. You enjoy it in small doses every other day or so, but you’re just not into it, so we don’t push.

You started really rattling off da-da these past few days. You are so vocal. I hope you say ma-ma soon!

You are still very intrigued by your tongue. It’s always sticking out, and it’s soooo long and pointy. It’s adorable, as are you!

I love this age. If you stayed this age forever, I think I would be content. You are so perfect, and my heart aches every day when I think of you getting older, going to school, moving out, etc. Your daddy and I always miss you when you’re taking a nap, or we’re at work. We always say “I love him”.

Oh…I know another thing you do… you roll a ball back when it is rolled to you. I don’t know how common that is in kids your age, but it seems pretty amazing to me. You did it a few weeks ago at your Aunt Paula’s and I though it was just a fluke, that maybe her floor was sloped, but no, if I roll a ball to you, you hit it so that it rolls back. You are very coordinated!
