11 months Old – May 15th, 2007

Sunday was Mother’s day…our very first one! We had a wonderful day. Daddy took me, you, and Grandma Pat and Grandma Ann to lunch at Chili’s, and you were a doll.

Daddy has been making sure to put you’re shoes on whenever we go somewhere so that you can walk from the car to the building…so cute! In this past month you have gone from walking awkwardly with both hands being held to running while barely holding on to one of our fingers. You can pull yourself up, and last night you ran completely across your bedroom, trying to catch my hands. You are so funny. You’re afraid to walk on your own, even though you clearly have the skills down.

We have been going in the pool a lot more lately, and you love it. So much so, you really don’t like your baths anymore. You also don’t particularly like being changed, if its taking to long. You are so strong, that you can just straighten your legs, and flip yourself over, and we have no choice but to comply and wait for you to lay back down the right way.

You’ve started wanting to pick up whatever is lying in your way as we walk around the house or outside. You are very good at bending down and picking whatever up. You also love to walk into our bedroom, go to the full-length mirror, and either show the “baby” whatever toy it is you’ve picked up, or give him a big ‘ol kiss! You love to kiss that baby!  As soon as you see him, you smile and give him the biggest kiss. You have got to be the sweetest child ever born.

Next month, we have a trip planned to Indiana to visit your Uncle Donny and Aunt Rita. Uncle Donny has been diagnosed with cancer, and can’t come down here to meet you, so we are taking you to meet him! I’m hoping you’ll be okay on the plane. You like to snack and listen to books now, so since it’s only a 2 hour flight, you should be fine. Who knows…I’ll update the journal when all is said and done to let you know 🙂

I can’t believe your first birthday is next month. This year has been so amazing with you, I can’t believe it has gone so fast! It seems like it was just yesterday that we brought you home. Now, you’re walking around, sitting down at the table to eat with us, and communicating like one of the family 🙂 I’ve taken a ton of pictures, and I’m so glad that I’ve catalogued your major milestones to share with you in the future.  I love you so much, and I can’t imagine life without you!
